What's even more fun than a treasure hunt? How about an outdoor adventure that combines treasure hunting, modern technology and a hike in the woods? Geocaching is a great way to get the whole family exploring the outdoors together.
Fees for the program are $10 per adult for Ridges members, $13 per adult for the general public and $5 per child.
During a brief workshop, you'll learn what geocaching is and how this popular high-tech game got its start. Afterwards, use GPS units to locate several caches hidden along the Sanctuary trails. Good fun for people of all ages and a great family winter outing!
Bring your own GPS receivers, if possible, but some units are available for use during the workshop. The hiking portion of the program will last roughly an hour. Appropriate dress and warm footwear is advised.
Space for the Geocaching event is limited and pre-registration is required.
