Coffeehouse Concert: Words on Fire - DCA iCal

Saturday, February 22 2014 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

On Saturday, February 22 at 7 p.m., Door County musicians and poets will present “Words on Fire” in the DCA Fireside Lobby. Musicians pair with poets to create a real coffeehouse atmosphere and a powerful evening of entertainment. Organizer Nancy Rafal promises a few surprises along the way. According to Rafal: “The evening will be in the spirit of coffeehouses nationwide where music, art, and words come together. Each poet contacted a musician and rehearsed off-site.  The evening will bring everyone together for the first time.”

Door County poets performing include Sharon Auberle, Marybeth Mattson, Ralph Murre, Nancy Rafal, and Henry Timm. Musical accompaniment is provided by Gail Jacobs, Tim Kay, Joel Kroenke, Steve Lavell, and Pat Palmer. Also appearing is special guest Al DeGenova.

“Words on Fire” is sponsored by the Cordon Family Foundation and Write On, Door County. Refreshments from Base Camp Coffee Shop will be available for purchase. Tickets are $15, general admission.

Advance reservations are recommended and can be made at the DCA box office, located on Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
