Tuesday, April 22 2014 2:00 PM - 11:00 AM

Library Book Discussions on Civility

2:00 p.m.  Sister Bay/Liberty Grove  Library   Tuesday, April 22

2:00 p.m.   Sturgeon Bay Library Thursday, April 24

11:00 a.m. Washington Island Library.   Wednesday, April 30

Join Door County Library Director, Becca Berger, in one of three Civility Book Discussions about "That's Just Rude,"  based on "Healing the Heart of Democracy" by Parker Palmer and "Civility" and "The Civility Solution" by P.M. Forni.     Those who participated in reading “The Memory of Old Jack" during this winter’s Door County Reads may relate to author Wendell Berry’s reference to the “Port William membership” and the responsibilities that brought to people in that community.  Our sense that we belong to one another means we cannot be “as self-centered as we please.”  We have “knowledge, an understanding of the necessity of…differences and respect.”

Civility Book Discussions are sponsored by the Door County Civility Project with financial support  from the Door County Community Fund.    Participants and listeners are welcome.

Books are available via the library catalog:
