Community Health Information Program “Chronic Pain Management”
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Northern Door Health & Wellness Ministry continues its Community Health Information Programs with an upcoming presentation on “Chronic Pain Management”. Pain is the most common reason for a visit to a health care provider, and 1 in 5 seniors take a pain medication regularly.
Chronic pain is defined as pain lasting greater than 6 months which can vary in intensity and may be associated with decreased functional ability. This kind of pain often takes an emotional as well as physical toll on a person. Symptoms related to stress, fatigue, insomnia, depression or anxiety can interact with pain to make things worse. Chronic pain is a challenging condition and is an important individual and public health issue. The goal of Chronic Pain Management is usually to decrease symptoms and improve functional capacity -- often requiring a team approach.
Come hear Paul Board, MD., Ministry Door County Medical Center, speak on “Chronic Pain Management” at the Community Health Information Program on January 25th at 4PM at the First Baptist Church, Sister Bay.
