September and October see a spike in activity at the Violence Intervention Project in Algoma. VIP serves Kewaunee County dealing with sexual assault counseling and different forms of domestic abuse, from physical to verbal. Advocate Danielle says dealing with relationship problems is a process that doesn't happen overnight. She says history shows it has a seasonal component to it.
VIP is available for walk-ins at their office at 1405 Division St of Algoma. There is also a 24-hour help line for support in a crisis including sexual assault response.
