Now that most of the bugs seem to have been worked out of the healthcare.gov website, Ministry Door County Medical Center has set up workshops to help people navigate the application process.
Brian Stephens is a director in the finance division at MDCMC. He says since October, the medical center has helped about 100 people successfully sign up for health insurance. But there are a lot of area residents who have not signed up.
Stephens says those who have signed up seem to be satisfied with the options presented.
MDCMC has two certified application counselors to help with the process. The first workshop is this Wednesday from 1 to 6 in the MDCMC training room. You do not need to pre-register, but need to bring an estimate of your 2014 household income and the dates of birth and social security numbers for immediate family members.
Stevens says the application process takes 90 minutes to two hours to complete.
