UPDATED - Suspect In Door County Garage Burglaries In Custody In Waupaca County

Updated with new information.

Investigators have matched tracks left in the snow at several Door County garage burglaries with the boots worn by a man in Waupaca County when he was taken into custody Sunday. That’s according to Door County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Connie Schuster.

Schuster says some of the items reported stolen in Door County have been recovered and they are looking for more.

Schuster says garages should be checked to make sure nothing is missing.

The 35-year-old Green Bay area man is expected to be charged with multiple burglaries in Door, Kewaunee, Brown and Waupaca counties.

Original story below.

Door County authorities believe the man responsible for a number of residential garage break-ins in the southern part of the county was taken into custody Sunday evening while attempting to break into a garage in Waupaca county.

The 35-year-old man from the Green Bay area is believed to have been involved in a number of similar garage burglaries throughout northeast Wisconsin. Search warrants are being obtained to retrieve stolen property.

Check your garage and report any missing items.
