Seven Door County residents returned home Monday after spending ten days in Honduras as Habitat for Humanity volunteers.
Five of those warm days were spent helping a local family build a home – hauling concrete blocks, sand, gravel and lumber in wheelbarrows or by hand.
Cinnamon Rossman made her first trip as a volunteer. She says while the Door County volunteers worked hard, the family and local volunteers worked even harder.
The house they worked on is expected to be completed this weekend.
This was the fourth trip taken to Honduras by volunteers with Door County Habitat for Humanity. The volunteers each paid for their own expenses for the trip.
Volunteers Doreen Holt, Cinnamon Rossman, Tony Chelmicki, Don Heeringa, Coggin Heeringa, and Clint Seely recently returned from ten days in Honduras, working on a house for the Calpio Bismak family.
