Porterfield Woman In Critical Condition After Fall From Bluff Saturday

More details have been released today concerning a woman seriously injured in a fall at Ellison Bluff County Park Saturday morning.

According to the incident report from the Door County Sheriff’s Department, 23-year-old Ashley Anderson of Porterfield and her sister Amy Anderson were walking on a dirt trail and then moved to an unmaintained trail near the bluff’s edge. Amy told officers she saw her sister roll off the cliff and drop to the ground 50 – 75 feet below. Amy Anderson then started yelling for help.

Sister Bay / Liberty Grove Fire Chief Chris Hecht says the spot where Ashley Anderson landed was difficult to reach, with directions on where to locate the victim coming from rescue personnel on the top of the bluff.

Anderson was unconscious when rescued and eventually medflighted to a Green Bay hospital. The hospital reports that she remains in critical condition today with a head injury.
