UPDATED - Manure-Hauling Semi Rolls Over South Of Algoma

Friday Morning Update

 

Crews spent several hours yesterday containing and cleaning what could have been as much as 5,000 gallons of manure leaking out of a tanker trailer following a semi rollover in Kewaunee County.

 

According to the latest information from the Sheriff’s Department, 27-year-old Douglas Posen of Kewaunee lost control of a semi owned by Pagel’s Ponderosa at just after 8:00 yesterday (Thursday) morning at the intersection of Highway 54 and County Highway D south of Algoma. The unit rolled over and ended up on its side in the ditch and began leaking manure.

 

There were no injuries. The State Patrol is assisting with the investigation into the cause of the accident.

 

Original Report 

Cleanup from a semi-tractor and trailer rollover this morning in Kewaunee County has wrapped up.

Sheriff Matt Joski says the semi hauling manure was making a left turn from Highway 54 onto County Highway D south of Algoma at just after 8:00 this morning when it rolled onto its side. Joski says crews worked several hours to contain and clean up the spilled manure.

No injuries reported. The driver's name has not been released.
