A one-mile candlelit trail decorated with pumpkins, snazzy brooms and giant spiders will provide the route for Peninsula State Park's 11th annual Spook-tacular Hike Saturday, October 6th from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Learn about bats, woodpeckers, owls and more from volunteers dressed for the parts! Shake hands with Smokey Bear, too. The trail is geared for kids age 10 and younger.
Park at the Nicolet Beach lot located about two miles from the park entrance and volunteers will direct you to the trail’s beginning. The event is free and open to the public, but a state park vehicle sticker is required. There will also be a campfire (bring your own s'mores), goodie bags for kids 10 & under, and the first 50 kids in costume get an extra prize.
Donations “at the door” are appreciated and benefit Peninsula’s nature program. If you need additional information call Peninsula Headquarters at 920-868-3258 or the Nature Center at 920-854-5976.
