Always dreamed of playing the drums? Thought about giving the saxophone or trumpet a try? Maybe the clarinet was your thing but it hasn't been out of its case in years.
If that strikes a chord with you, you might be interested in a new adult band being formed in Door County.
Paula Eggert says the Peninsula New Horizons Band is for adults who used to play a concert instrument a long time ago or for those looking to learn.
Eggert, current director of the Peninsula Symphonic Community Band, says the more she talks to people about the idea the more she thinks it'll be something people will latch onto.
An information meeting will be held Thursday, October 18 from 6 to 8 pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 1756 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay. Interested adults will be able to find out more about the program, meet the instructors -- Eggert and Kathy Krauss, and try out various wind and percussion instruments.
"I know that trying something new can be a little scary," says Eggert. "I just hope that people would be brave and come and try it. All you need to do is just gather some information and just give it a try."
There is a cost and a time commitment in involved. For more information click the link below or attend the information meeting on Thursday the 18th.
