On October 27th, we’ll celebrate “Make A Difference Day” a day in which we come together for one day to accomplish great things. Why not “Make A Difference” by helping out at one of these events in our community?
United Way’s “Chefs for a Day” is Saturday, October 20th and they need a little “help in the kitchen”. What’s better than getting a firsthand look at the yummy desserts and then sampling a few leftovers? Clean up will be a breeze when there’s a big crew of helpers, so why not give them a call and be part of this great event. Contact Ruthi at 746-9645 or ruthi@unitedwaydc.com.
The Boys and Girls Club of Door County is doing an incredible job starting our youth on the right path to great futures. Want to be part of that? Volunteer to be a homework helper or reading buddy. They’ll match you up with kids who need assistance with math facts or reading. There’s nothing like seeing a child improve in these core areas and knowing that you were part of their success. Contact Jessica at (920) 746-5125 or members@bgcdoorcounty.org.
It’s time for the annual “Boo Bash” at the Sturgeon Bay YMCA and they’re looking for volunteers! Join them for the Halloween Party on Friday, October 26th from 6:00-8:00 PM and help them greet "trick or treaters," run carnival games, do face-painting, crafting with kids, or help out with concessions. Contact Dori or Madelyn at 743-4949 or mdeprey@doorcountyymca.org.
Neighbor-to-Neighbor Volunteer Caregivers is hosting “Rib Fest” on Saturday, November 17th at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club. Volunteers are needed that day to help set up, serve and clean up.
