The Sturgeon Bay Utility Commission has a new citizen member. The City Council Tuesday unanimously voted to add Cindy Weber to the panel. Weber will replace Dave Phillips, who stepped down because of a move out of the city.
The seven-member commission is in a transition phase. Until recently it's been comprised of three representatives from the City Council and four citizen members. But aldermen voted in July to change that ratio to four aldermen (actually three aldermen plus the mayor) and three citizen members.
It's actually neither right now. Because citizen member Bernie Ellenbecker's term expired October 1 and an additional council member has yet to be added, the make-up is three Council reps and three citizen members.
Aside from Weber, the other citizen members are Matt Felhofer and Gary DeNamur.
The Council reps are District 6 Alderman Stewart Fett, District 7 Alderman Bob Schlicht and Mayor Thad Birmingham.
