The Door County Board is mulling over all possible options before filling the vacant Parks/Airport Director role.
County Board Chairman Dan Austad says the county wants to use this as an opportunity to explore if any corrections or additions are needed to the structure of the Parks department.
After the board figures that out, they will seek to fill the position as quickly as possible.
Long time Parks Director George Pinney passed away at the end of September after a long battle with Cancer. Cherryland Airport manager Keith Kasbohm has been performing the duties of the position since January, and has had the role of interim parks director since Pinney's passing.
Austad says Kasbohm is not interested in the role long term, but will keep the interim position until someone else is hired.
There will be a meeting of the Highway Department, the Parks Department, and the Administrative Committee in early November to explore all possible changes in structure.
