We have an update on the cause of the weekend's Sturgeon Bay power outage.
Sturgeon Bay Utilities tells us Sunday morning's lapse in service for 500 to 700 customers comes as a result of one very tiny critter; a squirrel. The squirrel apparently managed to get on top of a cutout (the large spiral fuse on the tower), causing a phase to phase fault, triggering the breaker at the substation.
Some of the areas affected by the outage include Cove Road, Pennsylvania Street, Memorial Drive, Quincy Street, Rhode Island Street and Superior Street.
Power was restored later that day.
