Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm the streets of Sturgeon Bay will be filled with ghosts, ghouls, princesses, and superheroes as trick or treaters look to score the largest, sweetest loot they can.
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department has a few tips to ensure a safe and spooky Halloween for you and your little ones. Captain Dan Brinkman says that safety starts with familiarity in the neighborhood where you choose to trick or treat.
Brinkman also says it is up to parents to make sure their kids and their costumes can be easily seen at night.
Along with good visibility, it is important for the costume wearer to have good sight as well. Brinkman suggests avoiding masks whenever possible.
Brinkman also reminds you that parents should double check the quality and safety of all treats brought home before anyone eats them.
