Some changes could be coming to a major intersection on Sturgeon Bay's west side.
The City Council Tuesday is set to act on a recommendation from the Parking & Traffic Committee that would alter the traffic flow at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Maple Street. The committee is proposing to reinstall the left turn signal for southbound traffic on Madison Avenue. They're also recommending eliminating the left turn lane on Maple Street for westbound traffic and the right turn lane for eastbound traffic.
In other action, aldermen will decide whether to restore the mayor's salary to $850 a month. As a budgetary measure taken last November, the Council reduced the mayor's monthly compensation to $765 and cut the alderperson's salary from $600 to $540. The Committee of the Whole voted October 8 to restore the mayor's salary but an amendment to restore the aldermen's salary was defeated.
Tuesday's meeting is at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
