Two Kewaunee County Companies are among a group of six from Northeast Wisconsin to win at the 13th Annual Manufacturing Awards of Distinction.
Olson Fabrication Inc in Algoma is a full-service, heavy-steel fabricator and machining operation. Olson took home the Friends of Manufacturing Award for its commitment to promoting manufacturing in the community.
Olson President Shawn Olson says it is great distinction to win the award.
The other award went to N.E.W Plastics Corp. in Luxemburg. They were honored with the Innovate 360 Award as a pioneer in the recycling industry and for their strong efforts at continuous improvement. N.E.W was an early producer of plastic lumber.
Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch was guest speaker for the event on the first of the month at the KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay. The economic development division of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, "Advance," coordinates the awards.
