Deer Season Off To A Warm Start

The first day of 2012's Wisconsin deer season saw a steady flow of hunters to mark their harvest at registration sites throughout Door County.

James Harbaugh is a DNR wildlife technician out of Green Bay. Harbaugh works at the registration site at Sturgeon Bay's Q mart on Highway 42. He says in his time in Door County he has seen a lot of great animals harvested.

Harbaugh says it seems like it has been an unusually busy year, but it is hard to tell because of the extremely mild weather.

He says one thing for sure though; there are a lot of happy hunters and a lot of bucks being brought home.
