Organizers say the combination of beautiful weather and wonderful people contributed to the great turnout and success of the 16th Annual Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Hundreds of onlookers enjoyed the couple dozen entries in Thursday's parade, including a camel and Santa Claus. Darlene Simon was the Grand Marshal, in memory of Terry Simon, Jacksonport Maintenance. The Jacksonport Business Association sponsored a $50.00 prize for the best entry. Judge Sherrill Eicher rated the entries on enthusiasm, originality, appearance and effort. She chose the "Call of Duty – A Cure for Chris" float. (Pictured below)

A raffle and collection buckets raised funds for Chris Lorona, the 14 year old suffering from a Germinoma Brain Tumor. The parade committee also Christmas shops for a family in need identified through the Feed My People program.
Next year’s parade will step off an hour earlier, at 11 am instead of noon.
