During this holiday season, consider helping out in the Alzheimer's unit at Dorchester Golden Living Center. It's sometimes hard for families to visit loved ones that don't remember them, so as a result, they don't. But these individuals still enjoy seeing a friendly face, having a conversation or even playing a game or two. It only takes 30 minutes to brighten the day of these residents. This time of year, the Volunteer Center gets lots of calls looking for volunteers to help shovel snow, install window insulation kits and do miscellaneous seasonal projects for elderly in our community. If you can help out every now and then, contact the Volunteer Center (920) 746-7704 and we'll get your name on the list.
Do you love to drive around and see the beauty of Door County? Well why not enjoy the drive AND do something good by volunteering to drop off posters and brochures? There are numerous agencies that are looking to "get the word out" but are short on time. It's a great way to help, get out of the house AND you can even take a friend! Contact Pam Seiler at (920) 746-7704 or email@example.com.
The Boys and Girls Club is doing a great job helping the kids of our community be the best students they can be. Homework Helpers are individuals willing to come in and work with members doing math facts, math games or practice their reading. Helpers can come in once a week or as your schedule allows. Contact Jessica at (920) 746-5125 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
