The Door County Buy Local Steering Committee is hosting a Buy Local holiday celebration and business networking mixer Tuesday, December 4 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Family Thyme Restaurant, 136 North Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. The event will feature a presentation on new urgent care services at Ministry Door County Medical Center and will provide an update about the activities of the Door County Buy Local program. Attendees are asked to make a $5 donation to help defray costs; refreshments and appetizers will be served. The Kewaunee County Buy Local Initiative is encouraging residents to think local first with the Holiday Promotion and Shopping Spree. The promotion, which began November 23, encourages shoppers to visit six Buy Local businesses by December 11 for a chance to win one of six gift cards valued from $50 to $200.
