
There’s magic in the music at Birch Creek Music Performance Center! Birch Creek’s mission is to provide intensive, performance-based instruction to promising young musicians by immersing them in a professional, mentoring environment. In keeping with our mission, we are truly excited for the New Year as we continue to build on the tradition of excellence and look forward to many NEW changes.
We are happy to welcome our NEW Executive Director, Alan Kopischke, who officially took the baton on January 2nd. Alan’s community-minded leadership and proven success in past positions makes him the ideal Director to help ensure Birch Creek Music Performance Center continues to deliver the superior quality performances it has become known for.
We welcome our NEW Percussion and Steel Band Program Director Mr. Ben Wahlund. Mr. Wahlund was previously the Assistant Program Director and was promoted when Mr. Robert Chappell stepped down to become a percussion faculty member at Birch Creek.
Mr. Liam Teague is announced as the NEW Steel Pan Director. Mr. Teague, previously the Artist-in-residence at Birch Creek, has been promoted to the position as Mr. Al O’Connor, who led the Steel Pan curriculum at Birch Creek for nearly 30 years, retires.
