A group looking to restore Sturgeon Bay's Little Lake to its former, much cleaner state is meeting Wednesday to touch base on their progress.
Roger Anderson, one of the group's leaders, says their primary goal remains securing grant funding to help pay for what's expected to be about a $1.5 million project.
If that happens, Anderson says there are property owners who've pledged to contribute as well.
Anderson says they're also compiling a history of the 18-acre lake in Sunset Park -- something he says Dr. John Herlache is working on.
"What we want to do is put together a brochure talking about the history of the lake and the plan to clean it up that can be handed out to prospective donors if and when we find some significant grant money," says Anderson.
Anderson says installing filtering areas in the north and south portions of the lake would be one part of the project. Dredging, which he says would likely be the more expensive part, is the other.
Wednesday's meeting is at 2 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall.
