Snow or no snow, Peninsula State Park will be holding its fourth annual Family Ski and Snowshoe event on Saturday.
The Friends of Peninsula State Park invite everyone to enjoy the beauty of the park, a crackling fire in the warming shelter, and refreshments from 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, January 19 regardless of the amount of snow on the ground.
"Ski tracks do not require much snow, so we are hopeful that those who want to try skiing or snowshoeing will be able to do so," says Chris Holicek, president of the Friends of Peninsula State Park. "But even without enough snow, we'll have an opportunity to hike and enjoy this very special place."
A State Park vehicle admission sticker is required. Those who attend are asked to enter the park at Highland Road, one mile north of Fish Creek at the intersection of Highway 42 and County Road A, and park in Lot 5. (Participants are asked to not bring their pets.)
