Kemoni Garner Trial To Begin Monday In Door County

A jury trial is scheduled to start Monday in Door County for a Sturgeon Bay man accused of running over a woman with a vehicle during a fight on the city's west side.

Kemoni Garner, 31, faces a total of nine charges, including attempted first degree intentional homicide in connection with the June 23 incident.

Garner was in court last week for a pre-trial conference and a hearing. Online records indicate the prosecution and defense did discuss a plea deal but no agreement was reached.

Six days have been blocked out for the trial. It will be heard by Door County Judge Peter Diltz.

Garner faces a separate set of charges in connection with an alleged fight at the Door County Jail. A trial in that matter has been scheduled for June.
