Potatoes Pack Plenty Of Potassium

Quick, which has more potassium, a banana or a potato?

Turns out it's the spud.

That's one of the potato-related nuggets shared with us by Rochelle Ripp, Wisconsin's 65th Alice in Dairyland.

Ripp says a medium-sized potato also provides nearly half of our daily requirements of Vitamin C.

February is National Potato Lover's Month.

Last year Wisconsin grew more than 2.9 billion pounds of spuds, ranking third in the nation for potato production.

You can learn more about Wisconsin potatoes by friending 'Alice' on Facebook (Alice Dairyland), following her on Twitter (Alice_Dairyland), or visiting her travel blog at www.wisconsinagconnection.com/alice. If it's potato recipes you dig, head to  www.eatwisconsinpotatoes.com.
