
Winners have been announced for this past weekend's ice carving contest in Sturgeon Bay. Twenty blocks of ice were transformed into works of art as part of the annual Fire & Ice Festival. The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center announces the following winners:
In the Advanced Category, winners included:
1st place: Dave Mailand – Seahorse (Brick Alley & DC Traders)
2nd place: Max Martin - Bee (Gwendolyn’s)
3rd place: Walter Ash- Kissing Fish (Artist Guild)
In the Intermediate Category, winners included:
1st Place: Hans Martin & Annie Berbert – Pelican (Associated Bank)
2nd Place: Jon & Allison Scholl – Humpty Dumpty (Child’s Play)
3rd Place: Rick Anderson – Cardinal (Monticello)

In the Beginners Category winners included:
1st Place: Mike Hanson – Ribbon (T Simon Jewelers)
2nd Place: Kelly Avenson- Camera (Door County Candy)
People’s Choice Award: Max Martin – Bee (Gwendolyn’s)
