Washington Island Observer Welcomes New Managing Editor

The most recent issue of the Washington Island Observer featured a new face in the editor’s column. Patricia Hewitt, a resident of the island for the past three years, is enthusiastic about the new job duties she took on at the beginning of February.

Hewitt began contributing to the Observer last spring with no prior experience in writing for a newspaper. Luckily for Hewitt, her sister is a professional journalist with a lot of great tips to share. Getting her first issue out was a little stressful because there wasn’t a lot to fill the issue, but she handled it like a champ.

Hewitt says things have been busy on the island lately and they won’t have any problem filling up the next issue.
