The slow winter season in northern Door County is the best time for Ephraim Historical Foundation Program and Marketing Director Kevin Free to take a deep breath and start planning for the busy summer season.
Free just finished his first year as program and marketing director and says he’s feeling more confident about the upcoming year.
Last summer was a very strong season and Free is excited to bring back two features this year that debuted in 2012 – the “What’s It Worth?” antiques appraisal event and the Heritage Tram Tour. Free says they started the appraisal event as an educational outreach effort.
The Heritage Tram Tour also received high marks from participants and Free hopes to get to the point where they need to offer more tours.

The Ephraim Historical Foundation recently began the "Teaching Trunk" program. Free and one other Foundation member fill the trunk with historic artifacts and take it to Gibraltar Elementary School to share with the kindergarten and fourth grade students.
