DOT Releases First Bayview Bridge Construction Update

Piers and parapets are mentioned in the first official update on the Bayview Bridge construction project in Sturgeon Bay.

According to the weekly update from the Department of Transportation, crews are installing conduit in piers 4 and 5 and have started concrete surface repairs on the parapets. On Wednesday the bridge deck was milled on the north end of the bridge.

The Hwy 42/57 bridge -- one of three spans that connect northern and southern Door County -- officially closed Tuesday and is expected to remain closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until July 4.
