This week Governor Walker promotes an expansion of the "Wisconsin Parental Choice Program" included in the proposed state budget.

Senator Bob Wirch shares parts of the Joint Finance Committee's education budget briefing, saying the governor's proposal prioritizes special interests.
"More taxpayer dollars are given to private schools, but public schools can't buy new pencils or textbooks for the classroom," Wirch, D-Pleasant Prairie, says of the proposed voucher school expansion coupled with ongoing revenue caps on public schools.
He added that the results of Racine's new school choice program have been "informative and troubling," citing increased local taxes.
