The County of Door continues to explore its options regarding possible dredging at Chaudoir's Dock County Park, where declining water levels are preventing more and more boats from using the marina.
Door County Airport & Parks Committee member Ben Meyer says the county is currently gathering engineering estimates for the proposed project. He says a big question is whether the dredging would last.
In other action, Meyer says a key grant did not come through for the planned bridge over Sugar Creek at Sugar Creek County Park. Meyer says the county will explore alternate funding sources and will likely re-apply for the same grant.
And dates are being discussed for the dedication of Pinney Park. Meyer says a dedication of the park -- formerly Olde Stone Quarry County Park -- will probably take place in late May or early June. The park was renamed last year in honor of former Door County Parks Director George Pinney.
