Mayor Proclaims March 29 Knights Of Columbus Founder's Day


Sturgeon Bay Mayor Thad Birmingham, in a proclamation held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, declared that Friday, March 29 will be "Knights of Columbus Founder's Day" in the Sturgeon Bay Community. 

Monsignor Broens Council 2478 Grand Knight Lawrence Tanck, Deputy Grand Knight Paul Schmitt, Lecturer Bob Ross and Chaplin Rev. Anthony Birdsall were on hand for the proclamation signing at St. Joseph's by Mayor Birmingham.

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic organization that was founded on March 29, 1882 in New Haven, Connecticut by Father Michael J. McGivney.  The Knights of Columbus has grown to 12,000 councils and 1.7 million members worldwide.
