Sister Bay's village administrator is stepping down.
Bob Kufrin says he has submitted his notice of retirement to the village and shared the news during Tuesday's Village Board meeting.
The 61-year-old Kufrin tells DoorCountyDailyNews.com that he loves what he does, but after a 37-year career in municipal administration -- including nine years as Sister Bay's administrator -- the time is right to step down.
Kufrin's last day on the job will be June 28.
During his tenure as administrator, Kufrin oversaw the expansion of the sports complex, the construction of Waterfront Park and the expansion of the marina. He also improved the village's budgeting procedures and oversaw the introduction of the village website and intranet site.
Trustees voted Tuesday to create an ad hoc committee to oversee the recruitment of a new administrator. Kufrin says he's agreed to provide consulting services to the village following his retirement to ensure continuity on a variety of major projects, including the Bay Shore Drive reconstruction project and beach expansion.
