An exhibit showcasing the best in high school art from around Door County opens this weekend at the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay.
The 39th annual Salon of Door County High School Art Exhibit -- featuring the art of 133 students -- opens Saturday and runs through May 28.
Miller Art Museum Executive Director Bonnie Hartmann says the county has some terrific young artists and is encouraging people to see their work.
"It's just such a pleasure to see the creativity and the spunk and the talent of these wonderful art students from all over the county," says Hartmann. "We look forward to it every year."
A special reception will be held Monday, April 22 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. with Certificates of Participation, six Awards of Excellence and six Honorable Mention cash awards presented by the art teachers at 7:30pm. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.
