A group of Algoma fourth graders are among several Destination Imagination teams from Door and Kewaunee counties heading to Knoxville, Tennessee for the global finals next month.
The team, coached by Rob and Jody Anderson and aptly dubbed "Still Thinking," finished first out of 19 teams in an improv challenge during state competition in Stevens Point.
Jody says the "Change in RealiTee" challenge requires some quick thinking by the students, who have to create an improvisational skit and a slogan relating to life after a dramatic change.
Anderson says the kids are really looking forward to making the trip to Tennessee in May.
Team members are Isaac Ansorge, Anthony Naze, Antwan DeGrave, Hannah Lee, Anna Weyenberg and Brooklen Cloutier.
Anderson says their challenge now is raising funds to make the Knoxville trip a reality. She says one event already scheduled is a spaghetti dinner Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Algoma Elementary School.
