Maxair, Inc. is looking for scheduling input on weekend charter flights that will connect Door County to Chicago for the summer beginning Memorial Day weekend.
Maxair, Inc. co-owner Patrick Heil explains his current flight plans.
If there are people from Door County who would like to spend the weekend in Chicago, Heil says they can hop a flight Friday afternoon at the Cherryland Airport and would return later Monday morning from Chicago Executive Airport.
Heil is also part owner of the company that operates the Cherryland Airport and wanted to provide more for the county.
Initially they will require that at least three seats be sold before making the trip, but then will play it by ear after that. The charters can accommodate up to nine passengers. One-way tickets will cost $129 from Sturgeon Bay to Chicago and $229 from Chicago to Sturgeon Bay.
