DCSSA Gears Up For Bike To Work Week May 13-17

There’s still time to sign up with the Door County Silent Sports Alliance to participate in Bike to Work Week. Anyone can participate, but those who sign up will be eligible to win door prizes.

The DCSSA is celebrating National Bike to Work Week starting next Monday, May 13. As part of the push to reduce pollution and increase personal health, DCSSA bike chairman Paul Anschutz says bikers can grab freebies Monday May 13.

Kick coffee will be offering the same at Martin Park Friday, May 17. On Wednesday, May 15 students can meet with police officers at the Sturgeon Bay police station and ride their bikes with the officers to TJ Walker Middle School and Sunrise Elementary School.

Anschutz says DCSSA will finish the week with a casual ride at 5:15 p.m. Friday. They’ll start at the Lodge at Leathem Smith and head to the Canal Station, then return to the Lodge for a fish dinner. The dinner will cost $14 per person and you can sign up to attend on the DCSSA Facebook page. Door prizes will also be awarded during the dinner.

To sign up and participate for the door prizes, call Anschutz at 920-493-6331.
