This is National Prevention Week, a nationwide push to prevent behaviors like alcohol abuse, prescription drug abuse, and underage drinking.
Two other issues being highlighted are the importance of mental health and preventing suicide.
Kewaunee County Sheriff Matt Joski says it's important to keep an eye out for signs of suicide in family members, friends and co-workers.
"For some reason historically we've hesitated when it comes to our mental health," says Joski. "We think that there is a stigma or that we should be able to handle it on our own and that's not the case."
National Prevention Week is sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
