The Sevastopol School District has found someone to tag in for the retiring Joe Majeski.
The School Board has approved hiring Mary Donaldson as the district's new elementary principal and director of special education.
Superintendent Linda Underwood says Donaldson, who's lived and worked in Minnesota for several years, is the right match for what Sevastopol needs going into the future.
Donaldson is a lifelong educator, having served as elementary teacher, middle school teacher, math specialist, principal, and charter school director. She's also worked in higher education providing instruction and support for teachers involved in graduate programs.
As for the person she'll be replacing, Underwood says Majeski has been "the face of Sevastopol Elementary" for many years and is an integral part of the district.
"We are glad that he's got plans for his retirement but we are also very hopeful that he won't be any stranger, that he'll continue to be involved in what we're doing at Sevastopol School and what the entire community is doing," says Underwood.
