Door County home sales posted a 19 percent jump in May.
Figures released Monday by the Wisconsin Realtors Association show 56 homes were sold in Door County last month. That compares to 47 sold in May 2012.
Cathy Wiese of Welcome Home Realty says she thinks one reason for the increase is that sellers have their properties priced right.
"The market's been good," says Wiese. "There's still great buys. The interest rates have moved up but they're still workable, so now is still the time to buy."
The latest numbers also show a 44.8 percent increase in median price in Door County, going from $120,000 in May of last year to $173,750 in May 2013.
Statewide, existing home sales were up 18.2 percent from last May to this May. Median prices rose 4.3 percent.
