A new D.A.R.E. curriculum is receiving high marks from students in the program.
Juvenile Investigator for the Door County Sheriff’s Department and D.A.R.E. coordinator Chris Neuville says the old curriculum focused more on the negative health effects that drugs and alcohol can cause, while the new program centers on good decision-making skills.
Neuville has received a lot of positive feedback from his fifth and sixth grade students since he implemented the changes in January.
Sheriff Terry Vogel will join Neuville to raise funds for the D.A.R.E program at a brat fry at Jim Olson Motors in Sturgeon Bay during the Bayland Classic Car Show later this summer. The program is community-funded.
