If you're interested in learning how the remote operation of bridges works, specifically in Sturgeon Bay's case, Sevastopol TV has a video of a presentation that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation held in 2007. It's six years old, but there's some interesting information about how remote operations work, where other remotely-operated bridges are in Wisconsin, and how the Oregon Street Bridge's operator's house was designed to handle the remote operations of all three of Sturgeon Bay's bridges. The presentation took place at the time the Maple-Oregon Street Bridge was being constructed, so it also offers the perspective of state transportation officials as they planned for the future. The presentation is scheduled to be played on Charter TV Channel 986 this Saturday and Sunday at 7 pm as well as other times. View it below or watch it on YouTube.
