Marilyn Roalkvam

Marilyn Grace Roalkvam, age 85, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, WI, died early Saturday morning, April 13, 2013, at Renaissance Assisted Living in De Pere, WI.

She was born January 25, 1928, in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Gustav and Grace (Buer) Roalkvam. Following her graduation from Sturgeon Bay High School, Marilyn chose a career path with United Airlines. She worked at the corporate offices in both Denver, CO, and Chicago, IL. Marilyn was very successful in her career and retired as Executive Secretary to the Vice President.

Marilyn loved to travel, write, and take pictures, a perfect storm to see the world. She created travel adventures in Australia, Japan, Norway, Greece, Turkey, Italy, and Caribbean. Marilyn was an artist at heart. She was recognized for her detailed and scenic oil paintings, picture weaving, and three dimensional art. Marilyn also loved to read and share her latest book discoveries. She will be sadly missed by family and friends, but we know there is a new angel in Heaven.

Survivors include her sister, Arlene Stevens of Sturgeon Bay; nieces, Claire (Dr. Shark) VanderWoude of Green Bay, Lynne Lancelle; and nephew, Terry (Ellen) Stevens.

Marilyn’s parents, and brother-in-law, Edson Stevens, preceded her in death.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Hainesville Cemetery near Sturgeon Bay.
