Jeanette Gunderson

Jeanette Cecelia Gunderson, 83, of Sturgeon Bay, died at her home on April 27, 2013. She was born on Aug. 22, 1929, in Sturgeon Bay to Cecil and Mary (Knapp) Stephany. On April 21, 1945, she married Gordon Gunderson. He preceded her in death in 1987.

Jeanette enjoyed cooking, gardening, painting and working with ceramics. She was a very loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include 2 children, Leonard (Norine) Gunderson, and Carla Boyer; son-in-law, Roger Wilke, all of Sturgeon Bay; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and her faithful dog and companion, Isis. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, Thea Wilke and Margo Bongle, a granddaughter, Sabrina Boyer, two sons-in-law, Bob Bongle and Gary Boyer, one great-grandson, Christian Bongle and several brothers and sisters.

Private funeral services will be conducted at St. Peters Lutheran Church with the Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Peters Lutheran Church. The Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
