Ralph A. Norton, Jr., 71, Sturgeon Bay passed away at his residence on May 5, 2013. He was born December 2, 1941, in Sturgeon Bay to Ralph and Marie (Schultz) Norton. He graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1959, and then attended school in Milwaukee. On November 19, 1965, he married Mary Jo Curry in Waukegan, IL. He worked in Milwaukee as a carpenter until 1967 when they returned to Sturgeon Bay. They operated Seashell Gift Shop and the Starlite Drive In Theatre for a number of years. Ralph built many houses and apartments in the area during his working life. He was a charter member of the Door County Homebuilders Association and a member of the Milwaukee Building Trades Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo; five children, Michael (Tamara) Knopp, Green Bay; David (Linda) Norton, Green Bay; Rachel Santy, Sturgeon Bay; Anne (Christopher) Parkes, Sturgeon Bay; Richard (Nissa) Norton, Green Bay; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Ruth Norton, Sturgeon Bay; a brother, James Norton, WI. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas; a sister, Mary Jane; and a nephew, Raymond.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday May 8, 2013, at the Forbes Funeral Home. Devotions will be held at 7:45 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
