Robert M. Shaffer

Robert “Bob” Shaffer, 70, of Brussels, passed away at Ministry Door County Medical Center on June 3, 2013. He was born on September 16, 1942, in Sturgeon Bay to Maurice and Grace (Sekey) Shaffer. Bob worked as a lineman for Sturgeon Bay Utilities for many years. He also worked at the Sturgeon Bay Waste Water Treatment Plant for a number of years. On July 9, 1983, he married Carol (Schwichtenberg) Konrad in Sturgeon Bay.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; five children, Vernon Konrad III, Sturgeon Bay; Barbra (Howard) Bloyer, Montello; Scott (Mary) Shaffer, Angel Fire, N.M.; Steven (Donna) Konrad, Appleton; Todd (Tracey) Shaffer, Holmen; seventeen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Susan Hettiger, Green Bay; Scott and Todd’s mother, Judith Schnick, Green Bay. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Konrad-Thompson; and one great-grandson, Raydon Konrad.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church with Rev. Matthew Knapp and Rev. Reeder Herrick officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Moravian Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com.
