Kenneth E. Skarvan

Kenneth E. Skarvan, 79, a life-long resident of Kewaunee, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Bellin Hospital.

He was born on May 20, 1934, to the late Wenzel and Theresa(Wettering) Skarvan.

He attended Kewaunee area schools and completed four years of service in the U.S. Navy.

Following his service in the Navy, he was employed at Kewaunee Engineering for several years before moving onto Paper Converting Machine Company in Green Bay until his retirement.

Kenneth was an excellent machinist and continued that passion into retirement He took special pride in custom fabrication of parts for many local and non-local residents and businesses.

He loved John Deere tractors and enjoyed restoring old machinery of all kinds. He loved to garden his "Garden of Weed'in"-- sharing its produce with others; and recently, he had fun raising guinea hens, ducks, and turkeys.

While working in his machine shop and gardening one could always count on hearing polka music being played.

Ken's spirit shall live on forever in the pond that he made his life's mission to create in tribute to his daughter, Rachael, who was born with cerebral palsy and has never been able to walk or talk He said the pond would be her voice.
